Has Your Australian Visa Expired?

The Department has recently been advertising the Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s Community Status Resolution Service (CSRS). This is a free service where you can talk to someone from the Department about having overstayed your visa.

We fully agree that this is a great service and that like they say in your video as soon as you find out you have overstayed you should take action BUT our advice is first talk to a registered migration agent/lawyer.

We have seen clients who forgot to mention their boyfriend/ girlfriend to CSRS and therefore made the partner visa application process much more difficult. This is just one of the problems you can encounter if you do not receive migration advice before talking to the Department about your visa status.

By no means do we want to stop people from going to CSRS but as our office is only a few hundred metres away from CSRS consider visiting us first for a free 20 minute consultation.

Check out the Department’s video about the CSRS.
